Herr Sesemann, after discovering that the “ghost” was actually Heidi sleepwalking, decided she must go home at once before she wandered into danger. So, he quickly ordered everyone in the house to make preparations for the journey to Heidi’s home. When Fraulein Rottenmeier found out that Mr. Sesemann was sending none other than the Swiss child, she was stunned. However, without wasting time, she continued with her preparations. Clara was heartbroken to learn that her only companion was leaving, and tried every possible solution to keep Heidi with her. But when her father explained that staying could badly affect Heidi’s health, and promised to take her to Switzerland, Clara accepted the decision.
